About me

Hi, I’m Matt! I am the owner of Garrido Strength and Conditioning, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a jiu jitsu practitioner, and honestly a fairly average lifelong athlete that just wants to stay athletic for as long as possible.

I graduated from the Bachelor’s of Architecture program at Cal Poly Pomona. After almost a decade of working as an architectural professional (with constant thoughts about switching to something involved with athletics) I pursued my CSCS and made the jump to become a coach.

Smiling man with short black hair, wearing a black T-shirt, standing against a plain white wall.

After spending years working a full time desk job while trying to stay active and pursue hobbies like jiu jitsu, I know how difficult it can be to fit effective training into a busy life. You shouldn’t have to choose between getting stronger and having time for the things that you actually enjoy.

My goal is to help people become stronger, more athletic, and more resilient without spending their lives in the gym.
